Quick Car Charging while using GPS?

Hi all, searched but can't find the answer, does the M9 quick charge while the GPS is on?

I am using the Incipio quick charger:

Also, is the large charge icon in the center of the screen a different color when quick charging? Mine is orange using this charger.

My M8's charge would still increase while using GPS in the car. So far, my M9 isn't doing so. I'm using the same cable I used with the M8 and the quick charger.

Thanks, kj

I am using the same charger you are while using GPS. You might want to check if the area you are in has poor cell coverage. If the radio is at max power and you are using GPS there is a chance it will not be able to charge.

My charge icon does not change color at all

This isn't entirely on point but I did a good bit of driving last week and noted a few things about the M9 and M8 when using GPS with a charger. Using the exact same charger, when using Waze (GPS and screen on) the M9's battery would steadily drop, even while on the charger. It wasn't rapid but it was noticeable. However, when I used my wife's M8 in the exact same manner the battery would reach 100% and stay there, never losing a single percentage point. I'm not sure what to conclude from this but it was quite surprising.

Strange... Mine charges without any issue with GPS navigation running. It would still charge even before switching to the new quick charger. I would definitely recommend spending a few $ and get a QC and see if you have the same results. The QC 2.0 chargers will also work with the M8.

I have a QC 2.0 charger - the exact one you linked below.

My M8 had no problem reaching 100% while the GPS is on.

Ugh.

It's the heat. The phone is too hot to be charged quickly.

Are you sitting it on the dashboard in the sun while it is charging and the GPS is on ad you are in a low cell reception area? If so, that would affect the ability to charge (it is protecting the battery from damage). I have a place out of the sun for my phone and never have an issue.

I had the M9 mounted in front of the AC vent and I was driving a night, so heat from the sun was not a factor in my case. As stated above, my wife's M8 - in identical circumstances - held 100% charge while my M9 slowly decreased.
