Quick data plan question

I am about to order a phone upgrade from TMobile and I want to get a G1, but I don't want the data plan as i will be in wifi zones most of the time. So my question is if I order the upgrade online will the plan automatically be added, if so can i remove it?

You'd have better luck in Carrier>T-Mobile. My guess.

Automatically or manually it will be added. On top of that it will have a little prefix that says "REQ". Any feature with that prefix cannot be removed unless the contract is either fulfilled or broken. The same holds true for any smartphone when taking a subsidy. Pay full price for the phone, and you'll be off the hook.
