quick question about feeds in HTC news widget

Anyone else have issues adding feeds manually to the stock HTC news reader? I know there's great alternatives out there (and I use them) but I like the widget on this one, and it's a quirk I'm a little bummed about.

So for example, "FailBlog" has the URL http://feeds.feedburner.com/failblog. Try entering that manually and it says it's invalid, yet AC has http://feeds2.feedburner.com/androidcentral and works just fine.

Also, within the reader itself is TechCrunch. If I add the feed it just shows up as empty with 0 articles. So, I thought it was perhaps a wrong RSS URL and tried the one I found at their site (http://feeds.feedburner.com/TechCrunch) which is actually the one in the HTC widget itself and still doesn't work!

Any thoughts on how to format URLs properly (in case I'm doing it wrongly) are appreciated, or even proof it's just a clunky system.

Actually I did notice that. What it turned out to be was the keyboard was putting in spaces between some of the characters (like http:// www instead of http://www) I changed the keyboard settings to no longer automatically try to insert spaces and it worked fine after that.

Thanks ratsock, that's handy to know. Unfortunately, however, I'm still having issues adding certain feed URLs so I'm just going to assume the stock HTC newsreader just isn't capable of handling them correctly. Bummer.
