Root Quick question: Wipe data?

My girlfriend has this phone, and I recently rooted it in hopes to add a custom ROM because she claims her phone is acting slow/weird. I heard Calkulin's ROM was really stable, so I'm going to try that. Usually when I use a custom ROM on my phone I wipe the cache and data automatically (I like using ROM Manager to do this), but I'm wondering if it is needed for this ROM? That way my girlfriend doesn't have to go through the trouble of adding her old apps, data, settings, and etc over again.

Thanks in advance!

You can use Calks No Data Zip...
Throw it on to your SD card and then from CWM flash it before you flash the new Rom...This will wipe everything but save Data...:D
