Apps Quick sanity check vs. handset suitability

Hi all,

I'm speccing a large number of handsets for a data logging project and am trying to fit into a tight budget. I need to log accelerometer, compass and audio over a couple of hours. I was initially going to buy a bunch of G1s but then having looked at prices I can find the Tattoo cheaper - is there any reason why I wouldn't buy Tattoos rather than G1s? The specs seem essentially identical (as I'm unconcerned about the screen, keyboard or looks of the thing - it may well end up broken anyway) ...

The Tattoo has a standard headphone jack (unlike the G1). The Tattoo's weird screen size also means that a lot of apps aren't correctly configured, and some won't install on a QVGA device. The G1 has a larger developer base, so the internals are a little better documented

Other than that there's not much difference
