Quickoffice questions?

From an attachment in an email I tried to view a 2007 MS Word Doc. Quickoffice started to download the document but stopped and said that it could not download it. Does Quickoffice work with Word 07 (I am using the HTC INcredible)? Also, how can I now delete this file that could not be opened?

You probably saved the document as *.docx which may cause problems. Save as *.doc and it will work fine.

So what do I do about deleting the document now? I cannot seem to do anything with the document. It is like it is stuck on the screen. I just cannot seem to delete it. Any suggestions?
