Quickpic problems, please help me

OKAY, so i have been using quickpic for a while now and used it as my one true photo backup app. i just got a new phone and wanted to log in on my quickpic app account. to no avail. i keep getting the error -10003 and it will not allow me to log in.
then, desperate to restore my 11000+ pictures i have backed up over the span of 2 years, i tried to restore some pictures to my old phone to try and move them bit by bit into my new phone.
now quickpic will not allow me to restore any photo's. not even one! i restarted my phone, cleared the app's cache, forced stopped it. and nothing helps!

please help me! i am desperate! there are so many memories on that cloud and i need them back!

First off, I used to be a big fan of QuickPic until Cheetah got their hands on it. Now I avoid it (and any other Cheetah Mobile apps) like the plague.

However, from what I see in the play store, Cheetah doesn't actually have their own cloud, but they let you chose which cloud service to back up your photos to.

Do you remember which service you chose originally? My guess is you are trying to use the credentials for one cloud account on another, which is why it's failing.

hello! thank you for taking the time to help me out, i just checked but i have not selected a different cloud space at all. i have everything on the cm cloud that you can see in the image. and when i try to restore the pictures from there it does absolutely nothing. :(

If you are sure of the credentials, then I think the best bet at this point is to reach out to the developer and see if you can reset the password or recover the account.

One thought, if you still have the old phone you could boot it using wifi and retrieve the photos that way.

ah yes, i have send an email to the developer. and i'm trying to restore the pictures on my old phone right now. that's the issue, it will not restore my photos on my old phone. none. not even a single photo. it just says ' photo failed to restore ' and that's it. not crash report. nothing.

i am fearing i have lost my 11000 photo's for good..

I believe the CM Backup uses Baidu servers in Beijing. At the moment much of the internet here is on heavy lock down, really because of the Communist Party Congress going on in Beijing. It might be back to normal in November, hopefully. I can't even edit my Wechat profile at the moment.

i suppose i will have to wait until the CM cloud comes back online then. thank you so much for your answer. i hope things get better soon for you and everyone else.
i wish i had never downloaded that damn app, now 2 years of photos and memories will be on that cloud without me being able to get them back :(

I saw a request for Wi-Fi permissions from Quickpic a day or so ago, I denied that then deleted it. The photo gallery I want doesn't need that permission. I'll seriously miss that app.
Damn Cheetah Mobile!

Back when CM bought QuickPic people posted links to the last pre-Cheetah version. Or I expect you can find it on apkmirror.com (it is version 4.5.2 I believe).

Doubt it will help the OP, since I expect a pre-Cheetah version won't back up/restore to/from the CM cloud, but it might help you.

(4.5.2 does have a cloud backup option, but I've not used it and don't see anything to choose the cloud - unless that appears when you first enable it).

Was able to recover and save to another location all my 'unrecoverable' QuickPic pictures! Tried looking in File Manager that comes with Android and nothing there. Then ... I remembered a brilliant app that I had long ago downloaded called 'Android Assistant'. (Highly recommend downloading and using this app!!) It had many more files in its own File Manager, one of which was my entire collection of photos taken with QuickPic (look inside 'Pictures' file in Android Assistant). Select any or all pics and 'share' to whatever you want. I chose to put all in my Google Drive. 122 pics transferred in less than 3 minutes. For those who already have Android Assistant installed, that's where you'll find your pictures. If you're just downloading today, I hope it will work for you. Suggestion: after downloading Android Assistant, try rebooting your cellphone to see it the app picks up those pictures. Good luck!!

See my general reply posted today January 31, 2018. Hope it's not too late and that all works for you. Best regards,

Welcome to the Android Forums @BCbelle!

I'm not a moderator but I've been in lot's of foums/BBS.

Talking to yourself is not recommended.

Google photos are in "The Cloud". I think the OP is talking about on his or her device.

Thanks for the welcome. ;) I was also talking about 'on my device'. That's where the 'unrecoverable' though viewable "QuickPic' pictures were but until I discovered File Manager in Android Assistant, there was no way I could save, share or download any of them. Now solved! Hope I've understood your comment correctly. Have a great day.

Tried to reply yesterday to your post but think I didn't do it properly... and you may not have rec'd notice. Therefore, see my general reply posted today January 31, 2018. I was able to recover all my 'lost & unrecoverable' pics from QuickPic app. Please read what I wrote. Hope it's not too late and that all works for you. Best regards.

Stupid me! Ignore this posting error ... was meant as a reply to MistyMountainsCold ... but didn't pick up the quote. Where's the delete button to avoid embarrassment! LOL

i finally found a way to access all the photos on cm cloud, this is in March 2019. Either get an old android device or use bluestacks, install quickpic 4.6.9.1486 from apk4fun and login to your cm cloud through the app. All your photos appear and you can restore them all to local drive!
