rainbow effect after applying a screen protector

After I put on my screen protector I got for 70 cents on amazon I see small rainbow effect noticable in white background. Is it supposed to do that?

Well oil from your skin will do that if you touched the sticky side as will many cleaning agents. Try to clean it with rubbing alcohol and if that wont work it's time to replace with a better protector.

Let me guess, you bought a matte finish screen protector? That's generally normal for those kinds of finishes. Sort of a price to pay for the anti-finger print and grease and anti-glare finish because its not exactly as smooth as normal protectors and its a bit frosted looking. There are more expensive anti-glare protectors out there though.

If you get cheap ones, it happens. I used to buy cheap ones for my phone but once, I got one on sale (original price was $14) for like $5 and it was really nice. No rainbow effect and I could see and feel the difference between cheapos and the more pricier ones.
