Help RAM issue. Is this normal?

Is it normal that this is a brand new phone and regardless of how many processes that I kill, I cannot get the RAM usage below 70 percent. It is awfully annoying because it feels I only have 200 mb of RAM. If there is anyway I can analyze better what is using my RAM and maybe get more out of it then please let me know. Thank you.

The phone has 768MB of RAM, so Android is using only a little over 500MB. That's not bad. It uses 8GB in some phones.
