Random Advertisements Popping Up Whenever

Hi everyone,

Been a while since I've posted on here.

I have a Galaxy S6 that I've had 2-3 years. Besides the fact the battery is going on it and it's sometimes slow as heck, I'm having a couple other issues, and there's one big one that I'm trying to knock out before I lose my mind and smash the phone.

About 3 or more times a day, I can be doing anything on the phone, and these huge advertisements literally freeze what I am doing and pop up. Like I said, doesn't matter what I'm doing. I can be texting, on Facebook, on YouTube, and my screen goes completely frozen (if I am texting/messaging, my keyboard also disappears while I'm in the middle of typing) for about 2 seconds before a random ad literally fills the whole screen.

I can get rid of them quickly by tapping the back button, but I've been getting really tired of doing that, especially since I've been dealing with it for months.

I have no idea the source of these ads. All I can assume is that it is a virus of some type, but I don't know for sure. I've done some research, but have found very little. I've heard something about disabling Peel Smart Remote, which I already did, a long time ago. I'll attach a screenshot I took when one of these ads had popped up.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, because this is really aggravating me.

Thanks so much.
