Random apps opening when unlocked

Hi all , when I unlock my s7 edge occasionally random apps will open up , it's mainly apps on the home screen that appear , any ideas , cheers

Obvious dumb newbie question, since I am one: do you have widgets for those apps on your home screen? If I have my unlock set to a simple swipe (which I do) I have on occasion, mistakenly touched one of those widgets and opened the app for it. I do that with my 1Weather fairly frequently.

Firstly, it is not at all unusual for someone new to the phone to have that issue. Try swiping off the page rather than ending the swipe on the screen. Over time the issue will disappear as you will automatically adapt your swipe.
It is possible to reduce the screen sensitivity and if this problem continues for you, post and I will post instructions. Unfortunately this fix can create other problems.

THERE ARE NO DUMB QUESTIONS
I always get the Otterbox Defender to go with my phone while I'm ordering the phone. I won't be trying to lessen my screen sensitivity any because of that. I'll try your first suggestion. You're right too: I typically end my swipe still about the middle of the screen.

I'm suddenly having this issue too. I've got my phone unlocked on my desk next to me Suddenly I see Letgo app open up. 15 minutes later, the WWF app opened up. Virus?
