For some reason, the words "no client" randomly pop-up while I'm looking at the interface. It doesn't matter which app I'm in or what I'm doing. Can anybody explain this?

My phone has been doing this too. Verizon HTC One on 4.2.2 stock no root/bootloader unlock (missed that boat, unfortunately). This is my 5th Android phone and it's the first time I've experienced it. I mostly notice it occurring in Chrome.

What phone/version/carrier do you have?

I've since realized that it's completely random and happens in any app, or even on home screen. Without OP replying back, guessing it's something specific to the Verizon One.

That has happened a few times on my Verizon G2 also. Doesn't affect anything that I know of. Just pops up on occasion.

It's a Verizon Droid Razr Maxx. I think it had something to do with services (I don't remember if it was Google's, Motorola's, or Verizon's), but subsequent tweaking the phone made it go away, though I don't know what did it specifically. I think it was just clearing data and the various built-in service apps.

If it was happening to me I would ...

First - clear the cache partition and see if it stopped.

Second - if it didn't run in Safe Mode and see if it stopped.

Third - if it didn't ... report it to Verizon as a BUG and they would probably respond that I needed to do a Factory Data Reset.

... Thom
