Random words inserted into text while writing text message

Hi all,

I'm having a really weird problem with my android, I've searched around the forums and google to no avail.

I have a motorola droid x with the standard text messaging app that comes with 2.3.4. I have autocorrect turned off. However, sometimes while I'm typing a text, it will suddenly start inserting completely random - and I mean completely random - words instead of the letters I type. It happens most often when I press the space bar after a word. I'm not accidentally pressing the suggested words that sometimes appear above the keyboard - in fact this happens usually when there aren't any suggested words displayed at all.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if so how they fixed it? Thanks.

Which keyboard are you using? I know SwiftKey will do that and can be frustrating until you tweak it to your preferences.

You need to go to whatever keyboard you are using settings and turn off autocorrect and autoinsert.

There's an auto insert too? lol I thought there was only autocorrect... I'll look for that thanks

On some keyboards, there's an option to autoinsert highlighted word after pressing space. Its different from autocorrect where it changes the word itself as you type it.
