Raspberry Pi

I think there was some tax reasons why they couldn't manufacture or even assemble in the UK. IIRC, tax on importing individual components is higher than on assembled products. Daft no?

I'm waiting for the Model B to come with an enclosure. I'll probably buy 2; 1 for the TV and one for my own system.

I seem to remember reading that a second model after the initial release would include a plastic enclosure. It looks cool, and I might have to pick one up. Spent some time on their site three weeks or so back... very interesting.

Not daft...Anyway if they did make in the UK, the thing would probably cost nearer 250 quid and not 25 GBP. Unfortunately these days, they don't seem to be able to do low-cost electronics manufacturing in the UK.

It's all about off-shoring, the main reason why I live in China now and not the UK.

I just preordered mine. I hope mine comes without the case so I can look upon the awesomeness within. Will android be possible on this? What about minecraft :P (Yes, that's one of the reasons I bought it xD)

I also know you are able to OC this to 800 MHz

I would think minecraft would work. I heard that it will do HDMI out, and I would think that hd video would be more intensive than minecraft.

does anyone know if the models to be shipped at april 3rd will come without the case? I would like mine to be optional

Got a confirmation and ordered my Model B today, I have a nice 32GB Class 10 SD card waiting to use in it

Delivery date was supposed to be Mar. 13th but RPi had a issue in manufacturing. The assembly in China used the wrong Ethernet jacks,

"This is because of a hardware parts substitution that was made in the factory by accident: specifically, where we

I've just had the email to say I can order mine. I'm hoping I can set up my galaxy S as a wifi router and use it as a keyboard for the Pi which I'll be using as a PVR/media player.

The delay in them arriving might give me a chance to learn enough linux to set this up.

Nope. Still heard nothing. Originally I was going to ubuntu it, but reckon ill look at openELEC. Looks good

I just got my order placed yesterday. Was hoping to get more than one, but right now 1 is the limit. Really excited to get playing with this.

I probably will take an old case and cut it up and modify myself a small case for this little guy.

Still not sure how I'm going to hook it up, I still have all old 15 pin monitors and SD TVs. I'm sure I'll figure out something though.
