RAW format pictures not loading

After a few months I decided to take some pictures in PRO mode with my Samsung S6 android 7.0
The jpeg file is ok but the RAW doesn't load . In the gallery I get only a low res preview that doesn't load further and if I try to attach the RAW file in Facebook messenger for example I get an "error loading media" message

Any help would be apreciated, thank you
 
Would Facebook know what to do with a raw image (a dng file probably)?

You need to use an image editor to convert raw into a jpeg. The advantage of raw is that you get full control over that process, rather than just taking whatever the manufacturer thinks people should like.

A gallery app is probably just showing you a low-quality preview (many raw files contain an embedded low-quality jpeg for this purpose). You either need an app that can process the raw file or to copy it to a computer (which will be much better for image editing).

No sorry but you misunderstood the problem. It used to work just fine. the gallery viewed the RAW files next to the Jpeg after a second of loading time with the RAW tag somewhere on top, now it doesn't load past the low res preview. I could send them over messenger and or use them before. Recently something happened or a setting changed and I wanted to know if anyone had the same issue or had an idea on what was going on
Oh and when I try to edit the RAW file I can and it's full resolution. Really weird
 
I transfered the files to the PC but they are still corrupted somehow, can't open them , can't go beyond the los res preview. I know they used to work fine because I have older RAW files from the same phone that work well
 
So did anything obvious change before the problem started? A system update, or maybe an update to the camera app, would be the most likely suspects for something like that.
