Razr hybrid USB audio cable - use without dock?

I currently use the razr car dock with the hybrid cable and it works great. I bought a second cable from Motorola this week thinking I would use it with the razr with a generic dock that my wife has in her car. However, it does not appear to transmit audio via the USB cable when hooked directly to the razr.

Any thoughts on workarounds that would make this work? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I noticed the same issue. I'm guessing that the dock is doing something non-standard with the USB wire mapping.

Its a bummer that it won't work - I would have thought there were some dock settings that we could mess around with to get it to work.

Oh well.
