Help Razr loses service! On and Off

Hey all! Im just replaced my phone due to a issue with the pixels in the lower part of the screen (when you hold vert.) and now I have a serious issue with the radio dropping out. I have a video to show you all what is going on but, unfortunately this is my first post and all I can do is copy the last bit of the URL after youtube com. Let me know if this is going on with anybody out there!

Also,

I wanna let everybody know that I bought this phone at best buy for $299. Then a couple days later found out that it was for sale on Radioshack's website for 219 with a new contract and something like 259 for upgrade.

If the place you bought it from has a price match policy I would check it out and save your self a cool 30 or 80 bucks!

This is a known issue per VZW. I have had the signal drop in full bar 3G and 4G areas. The bars go away and a little no signal icon appears. It comes back after a minute or so, but I did have one time where had to reboot. Also had times where I would go 3G only modes and then going back to 4G would not aquire.

I have had five total known events of the issues noted.

I lose service so much throughout the day! It is extremely frustrating and I had the same problem with my Thunderbolt. I thought maybe I might have needed a new SIM card but I see I'm not the only one with this problem. Must be a VZW thing...

Mine will show full signal weather it be 3g or 4g in blue then turn whitish grey outta nowhere and I lose all connectivity. It drives me nuts. I go in and out of browser a few times and it comes back to blue. Otherwise I immediately switch to wifi if available. Sooo strange. It shows the bars in signal but they are not connected. Grr

just moved to Austin yesterday. First full day and it's been excellent indoors. I get better 4G connectivity in this apartment than in L.A

Ive been doing some tinkering *#*#4636#*#* and noticed.... CONFIRMED, that when the signal drops. The SIM card is not present!

Maybe its a flaw with the hardware - pins do not make full contact with the SIM card? Maybe when the parts warm/heat up this causes poor contact due to expansion?

I highly doubt this is a Radio tower issue because the first Droid Razr I picked up 11/11/11 (one of the first 3 in the store), this NEVER happen. Until the very last second I had the 1st phone in my hand Signal was strong and no drops at all.

Just putting thoughts to words.

One last thing - Verizon and I have been talking and there is a report of 9 reported people with a issue exactly like my. So If your having the same issue like I posted on Youtube DEFINITELY give VZ a call and let them know about it!

That's exactly what happens to me. It doesn't register at first that there is no service and then the 4g signal and bars turn white and then I lose all service.

I'm starting to honestly believe these are issues based on where you live. I've traveled from L.A to Austin and have monitored 4G along the way. Some cities/areas are better than others (obviously)

I've had wildly fluctuating signal/data issues while stationary in some cities. So far I've yet to lose data and have EXCELLENT connectivity.

I don't live in a 4G area and have my phone set to CDMA only.... unfortunately, the last couple of days I've had quite a few times with no 3g signal. One time for a couple hours last night. I called verizon the clueless tech said to take it back to the store. I'm going to wait a few days before I do that but I hope this isn't something that is wrong with the hardware of my phone. I'm rooted and all set up the way I want it and don't look forward to going through the hassle of setting it all up again frankly. Especially all my playlists, etc. That took hours to reorganize.

This hasn't been topped in a while, but I'm seeing the same issues. I live in Pittsburgh, PA. We have awesome 4G coverage. I drop in and out of 4G/3G which I'm fine with, but I will often lose all data, and sometimes drop all connectivity. I called Verizon and just like my other issue with the phone, they told me that they had no known reports of this kind of thing happening.

I usually have to toggle airplane mode to get connectivity back, but have had to reboot a few times. Rebooting leads to an unresponsive black screen for several minutes. It isn't consistent, so when I took it in to the Verizon store to exchange for a different device, they told me I couldn't because it wasn't losing connectivity in the 5 minutes they looked at it! UGH

I'm in a 3G area using a Bionic.

This started happening to me, occured on-and-off for about two weeks, stopped and never happened again.

I think it was a newwork upgrade in preperation for 4G.

I suggest you ask other Verizon users in your area if they are having the same problem.

I've had exactly the same data dropout problem, and finally today an error icon: SIM Card Authorization Error. VZW is now mailing me new SIM card and suggested that they've got an upgraded design. On the Moto support site someone posted that an initial batch of RAZR SIM cards are defective according to VZW tech support.

I got that error too and called vzw and they told me to go to store and get new sim. I did this and still got the error. So they overnighted me a new razr and now I have no error message but I still lose connectivity at random! I'm in Philly area 4g with great signal. Vzw said it is a network issue with 4g lte and they are working on it with no official fix date.

I've been having this issue too... but thought is was some flaw in the Smart Actions...

I live/work in strong 4G area, and will occationally find all Data service has dropped out... If I toggle to the Data in Settings... it is off... turn it back on, and no problems.

Wierd I never saw this post before... at the time I went to store, VZ had no knowledge of this... but maybe they do now...

I'll check out getting a new Sim Card.

The folks at a local VZW stated this is a known issue and is being addressed in an update. The Bionic has the issue too, but worse. The store is the one I go to and the let me test the devices. They are in general a LOT more knowledgeable than other stores I have been to.

Don't bother getting sim card I've gotten 2 and still have data issue

I have an international version of the Razr and I suspect the signal problem is caused by software. I play games in the evening in bed and I used to lose signal then. I applied an OTA update to my Razr a few days ago (and lost root for whoever knows how long which is a totall bummer) and now I do not lose signal in that same spot anymore.

Mine was doing it this weekend. Was up in Michigan for the weekend and it on occasion would drop to 3g then nothing, then back to 4g but in white and no data. Would reboot,it would pop back in. Did it maybe three times. Not real happy about it....
