Help Razr Maxx digitizer replacement with a dummy phone

So the other day my New droid Razr maxx of 1 month fell roughly a foot and hit the ground and spidered my gorilla glass, sadly i was stupid and didnt buy insurance cause my old phone never cracked or even got scrached. Online its rediculous how much people want for the new glass or are selling the OEM screen with them(Cheapest I found a digitizer for was 135$ because the cheap places were sold out.)

Im curious to know if I can use a dummy phone from a verizon store and use that digitizer? I know that those phones cannot be activated, but i wonder if the parts can be used? Any help would be awesome cause this screen is driving me insane!

Also if it turns out that they cannot be used, can someone point me in the direction of a cheap place to buy a digitizer for a droid razr.

Are you talking about the dummy phone that doesn't do anything, just shows what the phone looks/feels like, like this.
If that's what you're talking about, then it almost certainly won't help you. It's just a mock up of the phone made of the body pieces. About the only value they have is if you need a new body panel, or POSSIBLY the outer glass on the front (not the digitizer/inner glass).

I don't really know a good source for parts, but hopefully somebody who does know will chime in.

Thanks xmr405o, sadly i found that site earlier and they were out of stock.

euph_22 thanks for the help, i just need the gorilla glass(the outer glass) but i looked at verizon today and turns out they are plastic screens and would be completely useless. I think you have the digitizer mixed up too, its the outer most screen of the phone, my LCD screen(inner most screen) works great and has no damage.

*Note Droid phones have the cheapest screens. Looks like i should of invested in an otterbox
