Razr: Voice and Call Quality

How is the voice quality so far? Especially, how clearly does the person you are talking to hear you?

Gf and I are both on HTC Incredibles still, and have noticed how certain other phones make our voices sound much better than on the Inc. - even if only ONE of us is on it. One reason for me to change phones would be if this one has better voice qual.

Thx.

I just got the phone yesterday and did a test specifically for this. I was told that I was VERY clear on the other end of the line.

Every review has commented positvely with regards to call quality. Mind you there has been a few indications of weak wifi reception and other issues but call quality is not one of them.

I spent abuot 45 minutes playing with the razr/rezound in a verizon store and fuond the razr to be very clear and very good fidelity. The rezound I felt had a bit of distortion. However the razr is not the loudest phone and in this area the rezound wins. I did not check the receiving side as the phones could dial only certain #s.

Still debating myself (and I wnt to check the nexus on monday before picking) but generally i like the rezound form factor (though it cuold be thinner) as well as max vol; but prefer the razor screen, snappy behavior and clarity (though it is a bit wider than I would like and a tad soft - also a bit concern about wifi reception).

I just replaced by Incredible with the RAZR and noticed a very significant improvement. My wife said she really noticed it, and she was listening on a blue tooth speaker in her car.

This machine is amazing. Only knock is it feels a little wide in the hands. So nice to have the memory issue thing gone though....downloaded all the apps I had been wanting too.

HUGE batterly life improvement over the Dinc.

With ICS I think I would pick it over the G Nexus. The lack of Verizon control (still TBD, I guess) is what is appealing for the GN, but the phone itself does not seem that solid. Need to hold it in my hands before I decide whether to return the RAZR though.

I like the quality just fine, but max volume could be a bit louder still. Luckily, I've been in quiet places to take/make them anyway...

This is a great observation!

At Max its fairly loud and clear! But could definitely be louder.

My 1st Razr had very good volume, second sucked until I actually did an internal battery pull and restarted the phone. Surprisingly doing that has brought the volume up a bit...weird..lol

I'm with this guy. Came from the Dinc and call quality is definitely an improvement. Still using my Dinc on WiFi, just to browse and it now feels small.

However, I am still also not used to the width of the razr.

I typically don't like voice quality of CDMA phones. I prefer GSM for the clarity but I got to admit the Razr is the best sounding phone I've ever used.

Phone (radio) quality on the Razr is excellent! Much better than HTC phones. I'm only a week with the Razr and Blur... and I quickly discovered how much I miss Sense. But I'm finding ways to fill the gaps with Go Dialer and Go Contacts. I'm not sure I miss Sense enough to lose this huge improvement in the phone quality (on both ends of calls).

Reception and call quality is so good on the Razr, I don't need to use my Verizon Wireless Network Extender anymore. With my Incredible I was lucky to get one bar, so I got the extender and it solved the problem. With the Razr I'm at 3-4 bars constantly without it.
