Really wanting a Evo 4G

I don't think this will work, but I was wondering anyways. I thought I would ask, never hurts to ask right?

Well anyways, I am really wanting a Evo 4G. Currently, I have a Sprint HTC Hero. We just signed a new contract a few months ago. I was wondering if I went to Sprint or to Best Buy if they would sell me a Evo 4G for the contract price since its only been a few months, it definitely has not been more than a year. I was thinking about either trading in my Hero at best buy or selling it on ebay. I know they are really popular right now and are going for quite a bit on ebay.

I was just wondering if this is possible. Thanks for any replys I get.

Nope, you'll have to pay full price. If you were a year and a half into the contract, they might let it slide. But only a few months in, no way.

this always happens to me--but not this time! I ended up with a Blackberry 8330 because I lost my phone at the airport and I was waiting for the release of the Palm PRE--so I missed out. In every situation, everytime I wanted a cool phone released by Sprint, I was either too late or not eligible.

But here's an optimistic note for the original poster: I have an EVO and it's buggy. I don't know if it's HTC or Android. It is nice but the battery life is the worst I've seen on any phone, even with the kill apps. My Blackberry could last two days on a single charge--and I surfed the web. My EVO's best time is six hours--just sitting there--with all the wireless and bells and whistles off. This may be a problem with HTC phones in general because my wife's HTC diamond does the same. There are other things like limited accessories, workarounds for apps that don't work well yet or crash your phone--in short, you're better off waiting about a year and a half for the dust to settle on the EVO or Sprint might come out with something better. Time's always on your side.
