Reaquiring lost apps

Recently I had my phone reset at t-mobile to fix gliches, all my apps were free so reinstalling wasn't too hard, but some apps aparently no longer exist, my brother has a droid on verizon and has some of the apps I lost, can he share them with me, and if so how? We aren't rich so we don't have a cloud...

The answer is maybe. First, on the phone with the apps already installed, you'll need Astro and an SD card if you don't have one already. Open Astro and go to menu>tools and select Application Manager/Backup. Click the checkbox next to the apps you want to copy and press backup. It will copy the files to a folder on the SD card called backup.

Copy those files to the reset phone. Install Astro on that phone too. Make sure settings>applications "unkown sources" is checked. Using Astro, browse over to the .apk files. When you click on them you will be prompted to install them.
