If you have a mail in rebate and change your phone number before it is approved (35 days in this case) your phone is "shut off" for a few seconds or minutes and this will show the phone as inactive to the rebate center.


A couple long phone calls with Metro PCS finally got it approved.

Here is the important part of the email from them.
"I have verified that your rebate is invalid because the service was discontinued before the required 35 days after activation date to qualify for the rebate. "

So if I buy a new phone on my account, and change my phone number on the account, then I can get the rebate?
