Recent update, battery drain

So I got the Cupcake a while back and that was fine. Phone crashes more on this or that and battery dies faster but overall a big improvment. I notice my phone crashes mostly on the browser. Anyway, Last weekend I woke and looked at a update waiting for my phone. I thought it was a app update but my phone turned off and did the app install process. Then rebooted. I couldn't tell any real difference except that my battery dies much faster now. I have two batterys, one I bought after cupcake because I thought the battery was going bad; hence the shortend battery life. but both batterys exhibit this very short life now. I can honestly almost watch the battery life % drop when turning it on. It is currently at 68% and it has only been two hours off the charger and I've only made two text messages. It went to sleep and I just turned it back on and it is now at 67%. At this rate 1/3 battery in two hours, it is good for 6 hours of virtually no use. If I really use it it might be good for 4 or less! Also I've noticed since cupcake but even more now, that the radio (I assume. The lower part of the phone at the chin) is always warm. Some times excessivly. Does anyone else have this probelm? Does anyone else know what the update was for?
