I'm having problems with doubleTwist (don't get me started), so I'm looking for alternatives.

I've seen iSyncr but it's like $10 and I don't know if it will be adequate yet and I'm not sure if the "free versions" are actually legitimate.

Has anyone used this or anything else they recommend? I just need songs and playlists to properly sync over to the SD card on my HTC One M8 and other devices (I'm using Windows 7).

Also I tried Google Music and it sucks, Google doesn't seem to like SD cards or syncing playlists from devices or anything but just playing from the cloud, maybe you know something I don't.

I used to use Winamp but it hasn't been supported forever and I can't use it to sync Apple devices.

Try using MusicBee which you can get at www.getmusicbee.com... MusicBee is a freeware replacement for ITunes that many Android users use and swear by. The current version 3.0 offers a lot of customization in how you choose to set it up, so be careful as you can get yourself into trouble with it if you go poking at things as it has several advanced features. Best to customize a few of the panels and colors and leave it alone otherwise...

I've got a Moto G4 and it syncs with MusicBee but I've found only if I go to Edit, Preferences, Devices and have checked the box for detecting MTP devices. I only had to check that box once and save it and now when I plug into MusicBee it detects my device each time. You can use MusicBee to create a playlist or do single songs, but you can then drag and drop to your device. Assuming you start using MusicBee, to get it to recognize your library you'll want to go File, Scan Folders for New Files and then point it at where you have your collection stored (I have my collection all in one folder and tree, but I'm sure you can point it to several if you have yours spread out...).

But I've never had trouble with MusicBee other than some tagging issues on occasion and also the odd panel that goes missing, both usually my fault as I tinkered and didn't leave it alone. But there's also a user forum that you can post a question to and other users if not the creator himself will comment. I've never had issues with DRM which I ran into often when trying to use DoubleTwist or ISyncr... The issue with Google Play Music is that Google wants you to stream your music and/or own collection - why is beyond me. So while it'll download music to your device, maybe perhaps not the SD card, it hides it and codes it. You'd need root access to actually see it as even using a file manager with the ability to see hidden folders and/or files can't see these folders and/or files. Also third party music players, I use PlayerPro, are not able to see your music then, only the player that comes with Google Play Music.

But try MusicBee, you should like it as long as you don't go poking around at things beyond visual preferences...

I don't need or want an iTunes replacement, I'm looking for a doubleTwist alternative that can sync music and playlists from iTunes since I use iTunes to sync my Apple devices already. If MusicBee makes me set up playlists also, then that's no different than using Winamp.

I don't use DRM.
