Recommended Apps Button

Weird issue that just started yesterday for me. My recommended apps button at the bottom of the recent apps screen are not updating. They will rotate through a couple different ones, calculator, calendar, settings, etc. but never actually update to recently used but closed apps.

This was a feature I use frequently and would really like to have it back, but am not sure why it went away. Am I missing a setting somewhere or something else?

I'm pretty sure it has no options other than "show recommended apps" on/off (on my s21, with the latest One UI 4.1 update, that's still the only option).

Of course it's possible that the algorithm for selecting these things has changed, or even that it thinks it has learned what you use to the point where it doesn't need to show every app you've used recently. I don't actually know the details of how this feature works, i.e. whether any other settings (e.g. turning Bixby-related stuff off) would affect this. If I'm honest I never found it terribly useful (a constantly-changing user interface isn't something I find particularly efficient) and turned it off several months ago, and hence wouldn't be able to tell whether it has changed. Have you had any system updates recently though? That might be relevant if something like this has changed.

Funny cause I'm the opposite and find it extremely useful because the last app that I closed but used becomes the first button, so frequently those buttons are my most frequently used apps. There was a system update recently, but I think it was still working after that. Maybe I'm wrong though. Thanks for your reply!

It might be because I don't bother closing apps (apart from sensitive ones), so that particular aspect doesn't matter much to me.

I got into that habbit too. I just do not close them down, leave them idle on my tablet and cell until it becomes such a monster to keep them on.
