Recover Icon

Not sure how this has happened but the Contacts Icon disappeared from the bar at the bottom of the home screen.

Now I know I can go into apps choose edit and drag the icon from there into the bar. However that means there is no short cut left in the apps.

Is ther anyway to:

add the icon but leave a copy in apps

or

recreate the icon in the apps

have you pressed on home screen..should bring menu with options for adding widgets & folders etc look in there ??

Nope that isn't a starter. Its only a way to add widgets/shortcuts to the home screen which then can't be added to the bar at the bottom.

Editing the bar (damm I wish I could remember what its called) can only be done once you are already viewing apps.

That "bar" at the bottom of home screen is known as "Dock"

Now I know I can go into apps choose edit and drag the icon from there into the bar. However that means there is no short cut left in the apps.

Dragging anything from App Drawer (the apps screen) to home screen does not remove it from App Drawer. It is just like creating a shortcut on home screen.

I hope this helps.

Yep, dragging to the homescreen leaves it in the app drawer i.e. is a copy.

However, the only way to edit the 'dock' (thanks for that) is to goto app drawer and drag icons in to the dock this removes them from the app drawer.
