Recovering my SGS

I have attempted to upgrade from 2.1 to 2.2.1 with no luck.

I am using odin3.

I needed to apply the three button fix to get to the download menu.
I did this successfully.

I downloaded what i thought was the correct .pit file and firmware version.
My phone does not boot now.

I am able to get into the download menu and I tried a different one, but it still does not work.

I am looking for guidance as to what I should be flashing on my phone.

Samsung Galaxy S
US Cellular

I was panicking a bit before. I figured out what the pit files are for.
I was using the I9000TUBJPD file from samfirmware.com.

Odin says it was a success.
My phone now boots to recovery automatically and says:
reboot system now
apply sdcard:update.zip
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
format internal sd-card

update media, please wait
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1
(No such file or directory)
E:copy_dbdata_media:can't mount SDCARD:

your storage not prepared yet, please use UI me
nu for format and reboot actions.
copy default media content failed.

I am able to volume down the list; however, I am not able to volume up the list or select with the power button.

I have tried to flash 2.1 back onto the phone.
Odin said it was a success.

I used I9000UGJH2 from samfirmwares.com

It has put my phone into a shutdown cycle now.
It flashes a white screen and Galaxy S GT-I9000M and turns off.

So after doing some extra digging and looking for the most reliable firmware for my model, it appears I do not have the I9000 and it is the fascinate.

With this information, I have been trying to flash my phone with incorrect firmware.
Tomorrow I will begin looking for the most reliable firmware for the mesmerize fascinate.

Advise would be appreciated.
I don't think I did bricked it, but lets hope I can recover it.

As long as you can put it in download mode, you have not bricked it.

There still may be hope! If not... making a JIG is not too difficult nor expensive :D
