Root Recovering photos

Hey, I´m in need of some advice and help.

My Nexus 5X got wet, ˝died˝ and came alive after some good guys from official repair shop fixed it and now it is working again and perfectly :)

Buuut, I lost all my photos. The phone had a new sofotware installed and now my question is: is there any possibilty to get those pics back? And how?

I appreciate any help given!

xoxo, T.

You're probably not going to be able to retrieve any of your photos, smartphone memory storage is a chip soldered to the phone's motherboard. It's not like a hard drive in a computer where the drive can just be removed and its contents copied over to another drive.

Where you using anything like Google Photos before? You're photos should be saved in your Google account. If you've sent a lot of your photos to friends/family there could be a lot in your email. Or if you use Facebook a lot there could be some there too.
In any case, it's a good idea to set up an online backup/syncing solution now. Google Photos, Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox are all good options that allow you to set up automatic transfers so you will always have at least two copies of your photos -- one on your phone and one in an online account.

Thank you very much, I was afraid of that.
I do have Google Drive and others, but silly me - did not have all the folder synced. Lesson learned.

Xoxo, T.

Yeah, I love Google Photos. All my photos are synced automatically. That means the pictures from previous phones are there also. When I change phones I don't have to try and get all my pictures over to the new phone; I just start fresh.

Edit: had to fix a couple of auto correct mistakes.
