(So this works for the Verizon version of this phone. I don't know about the Straight Talk version.)
Hey guys.
So apparently this phone has two recoveries. Yep two. Or maybe one.... depends on your definition(s) of recoveries.
So I believe this only works on root unless someone knows how to do this via stock.
Now, how to get into each:
1st: Normal way- Hold down volume Down and power buttons as you start up. This brings you to a "skinned" (for lack of other word) recovery with only options of Reboot, Wipe Cache, and Wipe Data. Not much you can do here update wise as far as i know.
2nd Recovery Steps:
1. Must be rooted
2. Install Rom Toolbox lite (may need to be opened and granted su permission)
3. Return to homescreen.
4. On homescreen (I use Nova Launcher btw. Idk if that has any affect on this.) long press and create a shortcut from rom Toolbox.
5. In the shortcut options pick reboot recovery and confirm.
6. Click on shortcut.
Phone should reboot into recovery. However, this recovery is different. There's no "skin" and it looks stock. Also the font seems bigger then normal. There's also options in this recovery for Appling updates.
If anyone has any ideas as to why this might happen then I'd be interested in what you think.
