Help Recovery options for Nexus 5, 5.1

Hi All,

I've got a Nexus 5 running 5.1. After I installed 5.1 it showed me a 9 dot Lock Screen (LS). I did not have a LS before installing 5.1. I'm locked out! So I tried various options (Android Device Manager, calling Google Tech Support, etc.) to get around the LS. None of them worked so I had to do a factory reset (not too bad cause I back up my important data every day).

Now I have a Pattern Lock (PL) set. If I forget my PL are there ways to get around the PL? I know there's Android Device Manager which I have turned on and my Location is turned on. I don't want to root my phone so are there other apps or 3rd party apps that allow someone to bypass the PL?

My preference is that if I forget my PL, the phone asks me for my Google account info (email and password), sends me a confirmation email, resets my PL and then I'm back in. Any way to set that up without rooting?

Thanks
