So I have a samsung galaxy s3 that I bought new and unlocked. I haven't even had it for a year yet; it's only been 7 or 8 months. So it isn't old. About a month ago, it started charging very slowly. Like it would only get up to a 64% charge overnight, only if it was turned off. The phone was using more power than it was receiving. I don't know if this has anything to do with it but I believe that a cheap charger may have messed it up. Long story. So my phone was dying one night while i was driving and I didn't have a car charger. I went into a store and bought one that was like 7 dollars. It was one of those that you have to change the ends on. I wanted a cheap one because I wouldn't use it much. I noticed that the next day after I used the charger was the same day that I started having charger problems. Also, if I used the original charger that came with my phone, it wouldn't work at certain angles. I had to jiggle the cord. So I tried different power blocks, cords and everything. I noticed that my phone still charged perfectly fine on my car charger. So I went out and bought a new USB cord. One that had the ends that change. I tried the end that came with my car charger on the USB cord that i just bought. It worked! Well for a few weeks... So today it started doing the same thing. I tried different cords and everything. If I can't get it fixed I am going to buy the wireless charging pad or the external charger. P.S. I did notice that the generic micro USB that came with the car charger was slightly longer than the original one. Like the metal part that goes in the phone was longer than the original one.
