FYI, it is illegal here to take anything out of the dump/recycle centers.
And it's illegal to dump stuff in the middle of nowhere because they want to charge you for dumping it in the recycling centre. They want cash from the dumper and cash when they sell the materials. it's the government that's doing the stealing. ignore the laws and do what you think is right.

No, there is a free electronics drop off near here.
There is one near you, too, if you take the initiative to find it.

Old batteries are (by law) accepted where the replacements are purchased.

The solder an other toxic materials, along with some valuable recycleables are in electronics.
This makes it wrong to dispose of them wrongly.
The materials that are to be reused make it worthwhile for there to be free drop off areas.
That is unless the people doing it are union, in which case it will cost more than it is worth.

Call it what you wish: calling out people in the OT section of an Android forum because you can’t stand the way they write is a sign of someone who is struggling with significant issues. Perhaps control, perhaps anxiety, perhaps…

This is a pretty chill place, there’s no reason to get all uppity (particularly when you aren’t following all the grammar rules yourself).

Have you considered the Calm app? It’s available for both Android and iPhone.
Arguing is fun and educational, you lighten up. I'm actually arguing for LESS grammer! Look, i even spell grammer wrong! And i can't be bothered fixing the shift key so some capitals are missing (a prrot damaged it).

Now.... you mention "significant issues". Firstly, i hate the word issues. Say "problems". secondly, are you one of those people who believes psychiatrists are actually useful? They should be in a bloody circus. As for a calm app? WTF? i'm not a hippy.

My council collects a fair amount of stuff. If it's not taken from my door, it goes in my landfill bin. i'm not wasting time and fuel driving around with waste. Not my job.

A lot of this so called environmentally friendly recycling actually uses a lot of energy to do so, and we'd be better just dumping it.

Although you have a point on the economics of 'just dumping it', that does not change the fact that this is wasteful.

We are all on fiat currency, so wasting of money is not as crucial an issue as wasting resources.

Resources are not infinite like fake money is.

But you forget, if it costs money to recycle, that is because we're spending money on diesel to cart the stuff around, or electricity to power the recycling plant, all using up resources. The easiest way to measure resource usage is cost.

Am I the only one that sees the blatant disregard for laws here?

Illegal dumping is illegal for a reason, i.e. it is usually being dumped on someone else's property which constitutes trespassing at a minimum.

You take issue with the usage of the word "that" but condone breaking laws. What an astounding human being that you are.

You're the astounding one, you automatically think the government is always right. They are STEALING your money. All tax is theft for example.

And they're not laws, they're rules, rules made up by whoever got into power by whatever devious means. the only laws are the laws of physics, we have to follow them. Anything else, think for yourself.

You're absolutely wrong about that. But, being that your grammar points to you being from a country other than the US, maybe there are "rules" there where they are laws here.

You know, responsibility to dispose of waste in a responsible manner, not dumping it for someone else to get rid of, like a complete waste of a human being.

Taking it to the waste facility here costs nothing other than some time and fuel. Buck up and take one for the enviroment, you littering POS.

Oh they're called laws here too, but it's incorrect to do so. A law is a thing that MUST be followed, a rule is something which SHOULD be followed. it's against the laws of physics to float up into the air off my computer chair, so I literally cannot do so. it's against the people's law to drive more than 70mph on a motorway, but i can easily do that.

Being irresponsible is more fun and can save you time and money.

And as i already explained to you, commercial entities are charged to dump at a recycling centre, which makes you wonder if recycling is a waste of time, if it's costing the council money. However you can make money out of it. There's a couple of tradesmen around here who get charged £40 to take a trailer of waste to the skip. But i only charge them £20 and use my home-owner card to get in free.

Everything costs all of these to produce.
What are we to do with it all?
Wait until the resource runs out and then try to recycle it?

I have to agree with puppykickr on this (and olbriar). There is a limit to natural resources. People used to think the bison and the forests were inexhaustible, both of which proved to be false. We're still waiting for humanity to learn from its mistakes.

So you'd be okay with dumping toxic waste into the ground or water because it's more convenient and cheaper? Great, let's pollute the Earth and make people sick. That's gotten us so far since the industrial revolution.

Now.... you mention "significant issues". Firstly, i hate the word issues. Say "problems".
The two words are not interchangeable. I can have an issue that is nowhere near a *problem*--so I call it an issue. Like my live-in helper failing to put a new roll of paper towels on the holder. That's an issue. Sepsis shutting down three organs and nearly killing me was a problem. Huge difference. No comparison.

secondly, are you one of those people who believes psychiatrists are actually useful? They should be in a bloody circus.
I'm one of those who believes psychiatrists are actually useful! :o In fact, actually LIFE SAVING in many cases. I wouldn't be here had it not been for psychiatric help and medication over the years. My brother, on the other hand, is six feet underground--having committed suicide. That's how he chose to deal with his depression, despite my attempts to get him to seek help. My cousin and I chose therapy. Depression runs in our family, but she and I are the only ones who sought help. The rest lived miserably unhappy lives and/or killed themselves in various ways. That's a problem...

The fact that this was said to someone in this day and age is mind blowing. Think I'm done with AF for awhile. Some real negativity in here that didn't used to be here.

If it uses 3 tonnes of oil to make the diesel for the collection carts and the electricity to run the recycling plants, to save 2 tonnes of plastic, you should have just made 2 tonnes more plastic with 2 tonnes of oil.

Pollution disperses.

They are the same thing but moreso. Where do you draw the line? I just say everything's a problem. From an itchy arm to my house being on fire, they're all problems.

Psychiatrists don't do anything, brain surgeons do. if you're broken, see a real doctor.

Probably because i'm not in America, where they're obsessed with them. Everybody has a shrink. It really isn't necessary. Talk to your friends and family.

It doesn't. It kills and sickens people and wildlife, makes soil unsuitable for vegetation and is destroying the planet and delicate ecosystem.

Go hug your trees, meanwhile I'll have fun in life. Wanna see the black smoke from my car exhaust? It's only carbon, and you're carbon based....

You're free to use any word you like. If 'problem' suits you better, that's great!

Psychiatrists don't do anything, brain surgeons do. if you're broken, see a real doctor.
You're showing your ignorance. Psychiatrists *are* real doctors--they're MDs, having graduated from medical school, then doing internship rotations in all areas, and spent 4+ years focusing on psychiatry. And, yes, I know about brain surgeons very well! One of the world's best removed a brain tumor via middle fossa craniotomy. Actually, he wrote the textbook on this topic! :o

So if I'm diabetic, talking to my friends would solve the problem? That's what you're saying about depression and other mental health issues that are *physiologically* caused, such as lack of certain chemicals in the body, or an imbalance of some sort. These can be easily treated with medication, like lithium, which simply replaces what you're not making on your own, or SSRIs and SNRIs, which moderate and/or replace missing substances. I had severe postpartum depression, separate from the clinical depression I've had my entire life, and without treatment, my daughter would've grown up without a mother. It would be insulting to read the comments you're making, except for one thing...

....we haven't had a good troll around here for a long time!

Don't let a silly troll run you off! Personally, I find their ridiculous comments hilarious--not upsetting at all, once I realized it was a troll trying to get a reaction. Don't give them that pleasure. Stay!

You're free to use any word you like. If 'problem' suits you better, that's great!
But i have to listen to these horrid words others use. "Issue" (particularly after "health and softy"), "action" used as a verb as in "action this task would you?", "fewer" - if we're gonna have a seperate word for countable items, then why not "severaler" for more?

You're showing your ignorance. Psychiatrists *are* real doctors--they're MDs, having graduated from medical school, then doing internship rotations in all areas, and spent 4+ years focusing on psychiatry.

Yeah, a degree in talking to people, WTF?

Now go tell him a psychiatrist is as clever as him.

What you have is a real condition, treatable by a real doctor with chemicals. Talking about it with a "professional" is a stupid waste of time.

....we haven't had a good troll around here for a long time!

No such thing as a troll. i believe everything i write. There would be no point in making things up.
