Reference tone generator

I'd like to see an app that could generate quality reference tones that I could output into an amplifier through the headset jack and then display the input received back in through the microphone.

Basically I want something that I can use to equalize an audio system. It would generate tones at known frequency's and output levels, It would then use the microphone as an input to display what an audio system under test is putting out.

The app would have to be able to select different output frequencies to enable matching to any equalizer that you are using to tune the audio system.

I've seen some good waterfall analyzer apps out there. If you could contact one of those developers, all they would need to do is add the ability to send a reference tone to the output jack, then you'd be in business...
