Apps regarding monkey tool

Can we test all the appliacation(like sending msg ,calling, handling media etc) using atomated monkey tool i.e (adb shell monkey [options] <event-count> )??.

if yes pls explain how to pass paramater for calling ,sending msg etc

if monkey crashed after 3 or 4 hours and other events are running so can we say that monkey is running fine or up to which time monkey has to run ?
