Reliable SD Card?

Just had my SD card crap out on me. (PITA!)

-In case you're wondering, it completely froze my Inc. After a few boot cycles it mounted my card read-only which is what clued me in that it was the SD card. Took it out and Inc was back to normal.

-Anyways, What SD brands should I target for a replacement? Reliability is priority #1, but $ is definitely second.

Transcend memory gets good reviews on Amazon but it's not the cheapest. I intend on buying their 16gb class 6 to replace my 2gb Sandisk (which has worked fine so far).

I'm a photographer, and there is great debate about the best card out there. Having said that, I and most others will agree that Sandisk is always a great choice. I won't buy anything but them. That goes for mini or macro SD cards to fast CF cards for my cameras.

I like Transcend cards too, and have had decent luck with PQI and Simpletech. I'd suggest staying away from Adata, though, even though they're usually cheap.

I've always owned SanDisk ones (not on purpose, just what I happen to come across) and they've been great. I have a 512MB, 2GB, and 8GB which have all worked without problem for over a year, and over 2 in the case of the 512MB card. (All of these have been microSD as well).

i agree with you dude

I bought a 32 gig micro sd from China on Ebay for only $14.00. It crapped out after about 5 minutes.

Go figure.
