Is there a way to get the hero to recognise new images added to the sd card without rebooting?

I have downloaded some images via the app backgrounds, they are In a folder on the sd card but do not show up in albums. I know if I reboot they will appear, but is there not a simpler way of seeing them?

I can open them via file browsers.

Sounds to me that the SDMount widget might be what you're looking for. Scans and remounts the SD card without rebooting. It's free in the Market but you can donate. Works great for me on Moto Droid.

Same problem here. Except clearing cache and data and rebooting isn't working.

Weird?

Works on my eris but not my girlfriend's.

Any other suggestions?
