Root Remapped Hard Keys for Broken out rom

I couldn't find a post where anyone else had remapped the old voice search hard key and I was getting a bunch of force closes, so I did a simple remap to make it a second system search button. I am using this with BrokenOut Rom 1.1

USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

I am assuming you know how to use ADB - MAKE A BACKUP FIRST!!!!!

1. Download the attached file and unzip.
2. "adb connect (your device)"
3. "adb push surf_keypad.kl /system/usr/keylayout" ****Note Below***
4. Restart phone

****Note****
If the surf_keypad.kl is not in your ADB root folder you will need to enter the location to this file instead of just its name.



Simply repeat the above with the stock surf_keypad.kl I have included to return it to stock.

Great job, I really like brokenout rom but not having a function for the button was bugging me. Is there anyway that button could be remaped as another power button or remaped to wake the screen? It would be nice to have a screen wake button on both sides. But i just wanted to say great work and thank you for sharing

Glad someone else got a little use out of it. If any Devs want to throw this into their roms I am fine with that, just throw me a little credit in the post.

Here is one that I remapped the key as power button as requested. I did not get a chance to test this yet, but it should work.

Use the same directions as is my first post to install.
