Remove/freeze Google Voice Typing?

Hi, I've spent an age reading up about this but no luck. How can I disable or uninstall Google Voice Typing? I can untick it in Language and Input but it always restarts itself after a matter of minutes.

I read somewhere about disabling com.google.android.voicesearch but that hasn't helped.

Is it built into Google Search? There must be a way of stopping it permanently.
 
Hi, nice to be here! It's not a device- or carrier-specific problem, seems it's more to do with Jelly Bean (4.1 I think).

I've seen a few threads here and there but not much help. There must be something we can do to stop it. I can't even hibernate GOogle Search as it doesn't appear in the Greenify list. Very mysterious. I'm rooted if that makes any difference.
 
I've disabled or uninstalled everything 'voicey' except Voice Recorder.

I'm trying to stop that irratating Choose Input Method in the status bar every time I type something. I'm trying to just use my keyboard - which stops the notification when I uncheck Voice Typing - but it keeps restarting itself.

I have moved this thread into the Android Applications forum since we are discussing issues with an application from google.

That comes up no matter what when your keyboard comes up, regardless if you have removed the voice typing or not.

Your best method is to find a ROM that allows you to uncheck the need to have that show up every time.

I know SlimRoms gives you the option, you can check your ROM, it should be in the Language & Input section in the Settings. Within this there should be an advanced options beneath the keyboard options, of like what keyboard you want to use as default. And in there will be a check box to remove the "Selector Notification"

Unchecking that box will solve your issue.
 
Okay thanks, that might be worth looking at. Although it might be a bit of effort for what I suppose is a quite trivial problem, ha. The notification stops when I uncheck Voice Typing, but then after a while it somehow checks itself again. No idea. Thanks for your help.
 
I have a Hauwei y320 running Android 4.2.2 and having the same sort of problem as the voice typing icon replaces my comma symbol so I have to go to the numbers/symbols page for a comma. I also manage to hit voice typing often when hitting comma which is a complete pain in the arse.
In this version of android I was able to disable voice typing in apps and problem solved.
Also disabled that other pain in the arse, Google search.

HOW TO DISABLE (on my galaxy s4 running android 4.4) press menu, system settings, my device tab, language and input.... there I can check or uncheck each input method including Google voice typing, Swype, Samsung keyboard etc. I suppose if you uncheck all except one, the notification might remain gone

I can also shortcut to the same settings menu by clicking the notification, then (rather than choosing an about method) click the setup button at bottom of the dialogue box.

I need help plz some 1 i see the setting where i can uncheck it but i cant uncheck it its just all grey and not uncheckable
if some 1 does reply plz start it as, brett then so on
 
brett again and i dont even know if i do all i know is everytime i try typing a voice thing pops up and i have to speak to type i cant USE THE KEYBOARD
 
I want to get rid of the goggle voice typing on my phone but I could not untick the voice typing box to deactivate
 
Could anyone show me how to get to top gear at goggle account thing to deactivate voice typing on my phone
 
The solution is extremely simple. Download an app called "Swype Keyboard" Open it and choose "dragon" instead of "google voice". Problem Solved.
 
I have a Blu studio energy 2 which is an Amazon product but still works with Android. There is a voice that comes on every time my keyboard goes up and every time I type something and delete a word. It is very annoying and I would just like to turn it off. I have looked and gone for help but there is nothing.
