Removing device from Google Play Store account

This has been bothering me for quite a while but since I didn't have to deal with it I figured I'd let it be, until now. I bought a new cellphone today and connected my Gmail account to it. But my old cellphone was still in the list of devices connected to that account, even after I wiped it. So how on earth can you completely remove it from the list? And I don't mean hiding it in the menu. I want it gone.

I haven't looked recently, but the last time I did there was *NO* way to actually delete a device. I fail to understand Google's "logic" on this! The best I could do was hide the devices I didn't want to see any more.

Same here. It's possible for unlinking devices from an Apple account but not with Android? @.@ Explain thyselves, Google >__>

In https://play.google.com/settings you can at least un-check "show in menus" so it doesn't get listed.

Was it previously possible to remove devices? Every time I install a new ROM it shows up as a new device. I don't have a dozen devices listed, so either I removed them or they somehow expired.
