Removing Icons from the Home Screen

I accidentally put two icons on the home screen that I don't need there. How do I remove them? I still want to remove the applications, just the shortcut icons.

Long press the icon and then drag it to the lil trash can that appears on the bottom of your screen. It will not delete the app. This will put it back into the "drawer"

Thank goodness for forums like this. It was driving me crazy trying to figure this out.
