Help Removing people from favorites

I can't seem to remove people from my favorites.

I've tried going to the favorite group under "People". I remove the people and they are removed. I check the People widget on my home page and they are gone. I wait 15minutes, check again and they are back in favorites.

I've tried going to the individual contacts and removing them from favorites. Same problem.

What gives?

I suspect the HTC People widget is broken and causing the problem...testing...

Hi, try to remove people widget from homescreen and add it again after you do some changes on favorites.

Tried that, thanks, but it didn't help. I've managed to get rid of 1 of the contacts but have no idea why or how..... :\

Bump. Anyone figured this problem out? I have the same. It shows that the person is not a member of the group in the people app, but they keep showing up in the group in the widget.

It's a problem with the facebook contact being linked right? I have the same problem. Considering just getting rid of the favorites widget entirely.

I've been experiencing this problem on my Incredible, also. I have a Facebook contact stuck in Favorite limbo that I can't even edit, so I can't remove them from the favorite. Getting extremely frustrated with this widget, but I want to like it!

Seems to be a problem with the Facebook entry. When I unlink the Facebook link from the people contact it's the Facebook entry that remains in Favorites while the contact has been removed. Since you can't edit the facebook part this is massively frustrating.

Solved by creating another group and deleting the widget and when reinstalling the widget, choosing the new group instead of Favourites. I now have VIPs

Go into your contacts, scroll to thw groups tab, click on favorites, remove or add whomever you'd like

worked for me on Incredible by deleting the widget, then adding it back, and making sure to go to the people, edit that person, and un-check "Favorite."

Figured it out folks...at least a workaround until HTC fixes it. You could probably do this in less steps, but here's what I did (requires coordination with your FB friend):
Delete the contact from Facebook...restart phone...stuck contact goes away.
Add contact back to Facebook...restart phone...stuck contact stays away.

Had the same problem, moreso to the fact that Bump added notes onto my Facebook contacts in the phone with each transfer (20 on one person = sucky). In such a case, removing the Facebook contact and Bump did not help, as their data was still retained on the phone.

COMPLETE SOLUTION:
You must remove your Facebook account from the phone via Menu -> Settings -> Accounts & Sync -> Facebook -> Remove Account

This will remove all Facebook files and links on your phone completely. Give it some time for the phone to sync some things and eventually you will see your Facebook contacts disappear from People. After that, add your Facebook account again and let it re-sync. If you're lucky (as I was) it will remember somehow which Phone/Google contacts matched with Facebook and re-establish those links. The end result is Facebook contacts out of favorites, any notes from Bump removed from the contact, etc.
