Repeated Email Notification (desired)

I am about to write an app in perl (internet server) to send an email over and over again to my phone until I reply to it because I can't find an app that will send a notification more than once upon a new mail being received. Does anyone know of such an email app ? I used to have a flip phone that continued to notify upon receiving a SMS every 5 mins til opened it. That is what I need for email. I am not an android developer so I can't write this function. Any help or advice would be great.

For a purpose-built app I would recommend looking at Light Flow.

If you have Tasker it can also do this (that's one of the things I use it for), but the methods available on Android versions prior to 4.3 aren't as reliable as they are on 4.3 and later.

Before writing a PERL script, have you tried just googling a solution? I just found a bunch of them by searching for "Android missed email reminder".
 
Light flow is probably your easiest option to get this working without having to write any scripts.
