Replace phone app for answering phone when asleep

I own a Jelly Pro phone. I don't like the swipe for answering making calls of the phone app.
I replaced it with a dialer, it works perfectly by giving me two big buttons for outgoing and incoming calls WHEN THE PHONE IS AWAKE.
If the phone is asleep (the screen goes black), when I receive a call it wakes up and goes back to the phone original "phone app" with the swipe crap.
Why?
How can I force the phone to use the dialer I installed to answer ALL CALLS (when awake or when asleep)?

Because it's most likely built into the OS.
And cannot be changed unless you root your phone. I own a ZTE, and I have the same issue as you.

Thanks for the reply. I would root my phone no problem, then what? Do I need to replace the phone app? Did you solve your problem on your ZTE?
