replacement keyboard

has anyone replaced their keyboard (e.g., black keys available on eBay)? i am interested in knowing how the install goes before i take the leap. although "dark keys" is great i am sick of the silver keys on my bronze g1.

I think it's great that black keyboards are available (the white keys on my white G1 suck too, but I'm starting to get used to it), but I don't think it's a quick 2 minute end user job to replace.

To give you an idea of what's required to get to the keyboard area, have a look at this G1 Teardown video on YouTube;

Of course you won't have to go as far as these guys do, but you can see just how much you'll need to remove to get to the back of the keys.

Actually, getting to the back of the keyboard probably isn't too bad... but it's the putting it all back together again that I'd worry about!
