Replacement Phone Advice Needed

Hello All,

My girl lost her blackberry and is currently with AT&T. I've spent the past 2hrs researching phones and would really appreciate a nudge in the right direction from those of you who have had more experience and time in this. Checking the forum I've heard the Atrix is good and I will look into that.

I'm looking for a phone that will work with AT&T, if it's a different carrier model that can be purchased unlocked and will work with AT&T i'm fine with that too.

I'd of course like it to be android with ICS on it or able to be put on it with ease. (I've done it smoothly with an HTC Vivid).

Battery Life is critical which is why I can't settle on an HTC One X that can be had for $350 no contract. Galaxy S3 is currently far too expensive when I can get a decent laptop for that price. The ability to install an extended battery is all that's needed as that completely solves the issue and I don't care if it sticks out to be honest. A chat app runs 24/7 and long phone calls are the usual so that's probably most important.

Because of the chat app (GTalk + Palringo) running all the time, speed is an important consideration.

Finally a decent camera would be nice too for her.

This is a non-upgrade purchase but there's a possibility I can haggle them for an upgrade. In the mean time i'd like suggestions for both a non-contract renewal purchase and upgrade situation. If it's under $150 it's probably not going to have the performance needed and over $350 is probably overkill for this situation (off contract). I have a relationship inside best buy so I can get many recent models for great deals but not all phones are available all the time as it depends on the location. It's hard to settle on something because i'd like to choose wisely the first time around.

Can someone recommend the best Android for my situation?

Currently leaning toward the Atrix HD that came out on the 15th which is pre-installed with ICS and can be had for $50 on amazonwireless on upgrade and about $270 off contract.

Sad to just discover the battery is non-removeable which is the only dealbreaker..

Atrix 2 is what I have and recommend it. The new HD is nice, but it does not have the battery life that Atrix 2 has. Atrix 2 is on the verge of getting ICS (WITHIN THE NEXT MONTH) and is an excellent phone.
