Replacement Socket A motherboard?

Mayhem

Android Expert
I know this is a long-shot, but does anyone know where I can get a Socket A motherboard that takes PC2100/PC2700? Other than eBay?

I have an old (I mean OLD) GQ (Fry's) PC that has a ECS 741GX-M that needs a replacement motherboard. At least I think it's the board.

I can install an OS on it (Ubuntu 10.4 was the last attempt) but it craps out when trying to run the loader.

I haven't really dug into the cause, but assume it's the mobo. It's a web-only computer for my kiddos, that's why I'm trying to revive it. :(

Thanks

Mike

Wait, if the installation works, then you'll need to do a lot more troubleshooting than that - it could be HD problems with the boot sectors, it could be memory problems (DDR mobos have been notorious for having issues depending upon which slots are populated - installation may or may not cause issues, but actually running the OS to boot almost always does if there is an issue), or it could well be the mobo itself.

I will look through my stash and see if I have any Socket A mobos around.
