Repository Backup/Save????

Hi All,

Sorry, I know only a little of the electronic age, so if the question is silly/daft/stupid, apologies.

I have a new Box and there seems to be thousands of Apps thereon which I will never use. When Kodi 17 arrives I will do a clean start and hopefully all will go. Fingers crossed.

There are about five Apps that I would use, and have found the address (hppt://) that I can use to setup those, but some I cannot find. They seem only to come with the huge package.

My question is…………………… Is it possible to backup/save a couple of the Repositories in the Box prior to a clean start?

Any info most appreciated.

Sorry, probably the whole 'App' if possible.
One that I found good was titled 'Freeview' but I believe it comes within 'Fusion' which I am reluctant to install.
I thought that if i had the repository i could set it up without all the other unwanted Apps/addons that comes with fusion.

Again, sorry about the poor computer language.

I'm almost certain that there isn't a reliable way to pick and choose which add-ons you save in KODI as a 'backup'.

If there are KODI add-ons that you can't live without then it's best to make sure you can add them later on a clean install.

Why the reluctance to install Fusion? It's massively popular and generally reliable. The Fusion installer contains the most popular add-ons to improve your KODI experience.

I'm no expert - but it seems to me that saving older add-ons to re-install on a new version of KODI is going to be more trouble than simply starting over from scratch.

Thanks for your reply, and you are probably correct regarding the older add-ons.

The reason I do not want to install fusion, apart from the amount of apps/addo-ons I wouldn't use, is that I read in the internet that it can control the apps you have installed and if they are not Fusion add-ons they could block them from working correctly. This may well be some anti Fusion people.

And if the add-ons that I like are run by Fusion, but I haven't Fusion installed, they probably wont update.

Will have to have a long think. Many thanks
