Help [Req] o2 firmware

spinal

Newbie
Hi,

When I first got my Ace, one of the first things I did was to install a bunch of different random roms with Odin. At the time it never crossed my mind to make a backup of my original firmware (is this possible?), and now I would like to restore my phone to it's original o2 branded firmware.
Does anyone have a copy of a UK O2 firmware for the Ace? According to the O2 website, the latest 'supported' version is SW: S5830XWKAA, CSC: S5830O2UKB1, but I have been completely unable to fine an O2UKB1 CSC file anywhere on the net. Would it be possible for someone with an O2 phone to make a backup of the their firmware and send me it?

Thanks, I know it's a huge ask.

Hi spinal.

Does it have to be O2 branded? I'm with O2, don't remember having O2 stuff on it, I thought it was just standard Samsung. I had to install the priority moments app seperately (uninstalled due to being rubbish too, but anyway..).

So I've been playing with the firmware. Discovered I couldn't update with Kies so went in search of the official 2.3.5 update. Downgraded to official 2.2.1 using Odin then back up to 2.3.5 using Kies.

I found the official roms here;

(unable to post link due to first post.. see below)

The ones we would use are S5830XWKA9 for 2.2.1 and S5830XWKS2 for 2.3.5, although if you downgrade to this 2.2.1 using Odin, you should be able to get the same 2.3.5 that you can download on the above link, but using Kies.

Hope this helps mate.

I was hoping that the original o2 branded firmware might get GPS working on my phone, as of yet, I have been completely unable to get a fix no matter which firmware I have tested.

Sorry for the double post, but can anybody at all supply me with an o2 branded CSC file? Or is there perhaps a way to trick Kies into downloading it?
