Help Reset lockscreen password of android phone via ADM !

Hello,
I logged in to ADM (Android Device Manager) with same phone's-google a/c.
ADM url :- https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager
It's able to catch my phone's location.
Ringing worked too.
(Though in both cases I had to restart my device to work.)

But, as the tutorial of resetting password of lockscreen says, I tried pressing Lock and entered the new password.... and, it didn't work giving a message that says : "Since Google has verified that a screen lock is already set, the password you entered won't be needed."

So, I'm unable to reset my password.

Can anyone help ?

No sadly this is what it does. It means that the function is useless to 99% of people who want to use it.

You can try pointing out to Google that this is the case, but they are famous for paying no attention to customers.
