Hi,

For some unknown reason that yellow triangle screen with exclamation point in the middle appears. I didnt even press Home and Power keys. Is there a way to get that screen off. I dont want to reset my phone and lose my data. I locked this phone 3 months ago.

Thank you.

I'm having this error:

android system recovery utility can't open /cache/recovery/command

As far as I can remember, I didnt do anything. My phone was in my pocket and when I took it out, yellow triangle screen with exclamation point appeared.

I dont want to do factory reset because I have unlocked this phone and it cost $25. Im outside the U.S. now by the way.

Thank you.

Have done that so many times. I even removed the battery, sim card and sd card. Still the same.

No, it hasnt been rooted. I dont even know how to get to the command line.

I had the same issue.
Since the phone was acting like the home button was being pressed, I guessed that the button was stuck in the down position because of some hardware problem.
Fortunately I had a broken phone to swap out the section with the bottom buttons and trackball. I swapped them out, and it fixed the issue. I then decided to take apart the old part. When I unscrewed the board and detached it from the housing, I had to disconnect yet another connector. I noticed that there was a little bit of corrosion on the connector. After scraping both the male and female ends of the connector lightly with the tip of a small standard screwdriver, it worked again.
I hope this helps and works for you as well.

I'm a bit hesitant in opening this phone. Im not in the US now and I noticed that local stores in this country are not selling Android. This means that there's no technician available to help me if I accidentally make misktakes when opening this phone.

I was able to do the same (as suggested) with my slide up phone.

Thank you for your post dave5709.

Any other suggestions?

It's pretty rare that anyone at a retail store has a clue about the internal workings of any of their electronics. The local AT&T repair facility is filled with techs that give misinformation on a regular basis.

You can either send it in to HTC, or do it with the help of a friend who's got practice taking things apart and putting them back together. I did it with a friend while we watched a youtube video.

This is a good one:

Well i took the phone apart , but could not find any defects on the connectors.
There was some plastic like (translucent) substance on 'daughter FPC connector' , it would not go if i gently try to remove it by screwdriver.

Shall i try to remove it more??

Please Help..
